Lu Xiaojun wins Gold

LU Xiaojun wins Olympic Gold -  breaking 2 world records in the Men's 77kg (snatch and total) . . totalling 379kg. Monster show & definitely one of my fav lifters to watch.
Teammate Lu Haojie took home the silver medal totalling 360kg  . . unable to take 2nd and 3rd attempt due to an elbow injury just before the Clean & Jerks were set to start.

2008 Beijing Women’s 58kg

2008 Olympics:

Gold went to Yanqing Chen, China, totalling 244 (OR).

Silver went to Marina Shainova, Russia, totalling 227.

Close third for the bronze went to Jong Ae O, North Korea, totalling 226.

2012 London:

World silver medallist, Li Xueying will be representing China. Definitely one to watch.

Nastassia Novikava, Belarus, is another one to watch . . won her first world title last year in Paris with a 237kg total.

2008 Beijing Men’s 62kg

2008 Beijing:

Gold went to Xiangxiang Zhang, China, totalling 319.

Silver went to Diego Salazar, Colombia, totalling 305.

Triyatno, Indonesia took home the bronze with a 298 total.

London 2012:

Xiangxiang will not be competing in London due to injury.

Jie Zang will be representing China in the 62kg category.

Triyatno will be competing in a heavier weight class in London (69kg).

2008 Beijing Women’s 53kg

2008 Beijing Olympics Results:

Prapawadee. Jaroenrattanatarakoon, Thailand took out Gold, 221 total (95/126)

Yoon Jinhee, South Korea, silver, totalling 213 (94/119)

Bronze went to Nastassia Novikava, Belarus, totalling 213 (95/118)

Of the three, Nastassia is the only one competing at London, moving up a weight class into the 58kg.

 

2008 Beijing Men’s 56kg

Last Olympics top 3:

Gold went to Long Qingquan, China – 132/160, 292 total

Silver went to Hoang Anh Tuan, Vietnam – 130/160, 290 total . . very close second.

Bronze went to Eko Yuli Irawan, Indonesia – 130/158, 288 total . . again, very close behind.

This year in London,

Long is replaced with Wu Jingbiao beating him to a spot.

Hoang is disqualified from London after testing positive in 2011 for illegal substances which resulted in a 2 year suspension.

The new hopeful for Vietnam rests in the hands of Tran Le Quoc Toan.

And Bronze Medalist Eko will be competing in the Men’s 62.

2008 Beijing Olympics Chen Xiexia, China took out the Gold with 212kg total.

Sibel Ozkan, Turkey, totalled 199kg for silver.

Chen Wei-Ling, China, took out Bronze with a 196 total.

Recognize ego in the gym as a weapon against your opponents which can be trained until it becomes intimidating. Use it everyday and build on it until you never allow negativity into your thoughts. Like I have said before, your intention in competition and training should not just be to win but to crush your opponents will. Weightlifting is war. If you want to win that war give nothing to anyone. Move to the top by way of attrition, remain focused, never for a moment sacrifice anything along the way, and avoid those who believe it necessary. Sacrifice nothing and you will gain everything.
