it’s not rocket science . .

When we buy something brand new . . we do everything in our power to take OPTIMUM care for it . . careful not to break it . . drop it . . scratch it . . few months go buy . . we “accidently” drop it . . develops a few scratches . . we lose our taste for it . . the flavour gets old . . it loses its appeal . .

Same with new people we meet .  . when we meet someone we are excited . . happy . . engrossed in that person . . we have someone NEW to talk to . .  life is good . . 

Exercise works the same way . .

All you cardio bunnies hopping on the treadmill 7 days a week . . do you even know what a piece of iron feels like????

You rock up to church religiously for a few months . . see yourself getting smaller but still lookin’ the same old shape . . figure exercising isn’t working for you . . oh no, wait . . it’s your “genetics” right?

then sit back on the couch years later eyeing off “the ab master” you saw on sbs last week . . figured it might be different . .

but of course you were wrong . . weren’t chaaaa?

You gotta make it interesting!!!

YES exercising can be repetitive . .

YES exercising can be boring . .

but there’s no reason for it to be . . IF you mix it up . .

Different routines . .  methods . .  rest intervals . . there’s no reason why you can’t and shouldn’t be excited at the thought of going to the gym . . we gotta find the fire . . and keep it lit . .

So you work a 9-5 job which bores the crap out of you . . last thing you want to do is have to go the gym unwillingly and force yourself to do something ELSE you don’t want to do.

Majority of you don’t want to be athletes . .  don’t want to win the next gold at the Olympics . . yo u just want to be fit, healthy, or you’re doing it to shut your doctor up . .

So it’s not necessary to have a program so “structured” . .  do what you feel like . .  run  . . jump . . skip . . throw a ball . . hop on one leg . . ANYTHING that gets the muscles in your body moving . . the amount of complexity of some programs i see is so EXTENSIVE . .  that people see beyond that  . . they’re so intimidated by it that they see it more as a chore than as something that’s going to make their lives better . .

their heart ain’t in it . . and if your heart ain’t in it . . what’s the intensity like? it’s shit. what are the results going to be like? shit.

Don’t let anybody tell you what program is “good” or “bad” because being active does not mean training till you puke!

Same goes with the fuel you’re putting in your mouth . . some people can go on for weeks . . months . . eating plain chicken breast and steamed broccoli . and not think twice about it. . others can’t stand two meals of the day being the same . . figure out where you stand . . what type of person YOU are and go from there . .

It’s not rocket science . .
