Us humans STRIVE for perfection . .
You want to lose 20kgs . . so you decide to start . . clean slate . . first Monday of the next month . .
Gorge on shit the weekend before because that will get it out of your system and you won’t have cravings anymore right?
Eat everything you can get your hands on . .
Then Monday comes on . . measuring everything PERFECTLY . . not a gram over what it should be . . God forbid it’s a GRAM over . . you don’t want any unnecessary calories creeping in to your strategically developed daily calorie counting plan . .
You join the gym for a WHOLE YEAR . . wow . . so you’re actually going to do this . .
After the first day you think to yourself . . “hey, i could get used to this, this wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be” . .
Fast forward to 2 . . 3 weeks later . . oh oh . . cravings are starting to surface . . uncontrollable . . tempting . . mouth watering cravings . . “well, i’ve been SO good . . i’ll just have one bar of chocolate and i won’t eat for the rest of the day to compensate” . .
Then that bar turns into a block . . the block turns into a family size block . .
IT’S RUINED . . you can’t turn back now . . so you give up . . hand in the keys . . and go back to your high fat, high carb meals . . and takeaway on the weekends . .
Stop looking at changing everything at once . . being perfect . . because it ain’t gonna last.
Stop looking for help from somewhere else . . and start listening to your body . .
It’s easy . . stop with the drive-thru maccas. . eat more VEGGIES . . you know EXACTLY what you need to change in your diet . . don’t kid yourself . . unless those chocolate bars are made out of vegetables . . you KNOW it’s not going to do your body any good . .
And stop trying to be so DAMN PERFECT
